Tourists Throng Northern Areas To Avail 40% PTDC Discount

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Oct, 2018 ) :A large number of tourists thronged various parts of northern areas from across the country this month with their families and friends to avail 40 percent discount package offered by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).

As everyone wanted to enjoy festivity with their family at scenic hilly picnic attractions in the northern areas, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) had announced discounted winter packages of motels and people enjoys a lot for these packages.

Talking to APP, an official of the corporation, said that the purpose of the packages is to facilitate the local and foreign tourists also.

Most of the tourists thronged motels at Saidu Sharif, Kalam(Swat), Miandam (Swat), Panakot (Dir), Bamburet (Chitral), Bunni (Chitral), Birmoglasht (Chitral), Main Chitral, Mastuj (Chitral).

Work was under way on Wednesday to clear roads in Naran blocked due to landslides triggered by snowfall and rain. The operation was initiated by police and National Highway Authority (NHA), under which routes were cleared of snow and mud so that tourists could continue their journey.

On the other hand, snowfall was stopped in Gilgit-Baltistan region of the country but continued in Muzaffarabad and adjoining areas. Every year as soon as mercury starts dropping, a large number of people fromdifferent parts of the country throng the north of Pakistan to enjoythe view of mountains blanketed in snow, he added.
