Traffic Plan Chalked Out For Ramazan

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2017 ) : City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has evolved a comprehensive plan to control traffic flow in Ramazan and special arrangements are being made in this regard.
Special traffic squads and enhanced number of traffic wardens are being deployed at all main intersections of the city whereas help lines 1915 and 051-9272616 have been set up at Race Course Traffic Office with deployment of special squad.
The helpline 1915 will provide 24-hour help and assistance to the citizens. According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Yousaf Ali Shahid, CTP have formulated a comprehensive traffic plan for provision of all possible facilities to the road users regarding traffic especially during Ramazan-ul-Mubarik.
Special traffic arrangements are also being made for Ramazan Dastarkhawans and 16 Ramazan Sasta Bazaars. He said, duty timing of traffic wardens have been increased aimed at ensuring the smooth traffic flow on city roads.
The motorists would be allowed to park their vehicles only in the parking areas of the shopping centers and the markets during the month. Yousaf Ali said special arrangements are being made to control the traffic jams so that the citizens could easily reach at their destinations within shortest possible time.
He said in view of the security of the citizens, special traffic arrangements are being made. Parking of vehicles near Mosques, Imam Bargahs and other religious places would not be allowed and double parking in any part of the city would also be prohibited.
Under the plan, traffic police officers have been directed to keep a vigilant eye on suspected vehicles. Strict action in accordance with the law has also been ordered against vehicles having tinted glasses or without number plates, he added.
The CTO said, traffic wardens have also been directed to work with dedication and commitment and ensure the traffic flow so that traffic mess particularly on congested roads could be avoided and the citizens be provided relief during the holy month.
Under the traffic plan, all out efforts would be made by city traffic police to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on city roads mainly for �Iftar� timing, he added. He informed that he himself would supervise all the arrangements made for Ramazan.
In order to provide relief to the citizens, strict action against transporters charging exorbitant fares from the passengers have also been ordered, he said.
