Train Accident Inquiry Report To Be Presented In National Assembly : Sheikh Rashid

Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Monday informed the National Assembly that findings of an inquiry into the Khushhal Khan Khattak Railway Train accident would be presented in the House next month.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2018 ) :Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Monday informed the National Assembly that findings of an inquiry into the Khushhal Khan Khattak Railway Train accident would be presented in the House next month.
An inquiry into incident was underway and it report would be finalized by September 30, he added.
The minister was responding to a calling attention notice regarding the train accident at Mianwali due to alleged negligence of Railway Maintenance Department, which caused injuries to 21 passengers.
He said in the light of inquiry report, strict action would be taken against those whose negligence caused the accident.
Responding to a supplementary question, the minister said there was no issue of the track as the respective train had been running on it for the last 20 years. He, however, added that unfortunately no work had been carried out to improve the track during the last 12 years.
As per insurance policy, Sheikh Rashid said, compensation amounting to Rs 1.5 million was paid to the heirs of a person who died in any train mishap.
