Tribesmen's Sacrifices In Eliminating Terrorism Highly Commendable: IGFC

Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IGFC) Major General Abid Latif has said that sacrifices of tribal people of South Waziritan and their unflinching support to the armed forces in elimination of terrorism were praiseworthy.

The tribesmen played key role in flushing out terrorists from their areas, said the IGFC during a grand jirga of tribal elders of Mehsud, Wazir, Barki, Dotani and Suleman Khel tribes here the other day.
Commissioner DIKhan Abdul Ghafoor Baig, Commandant SWA Col. Ijaz, Political Agent SW Suhail Khan, APA Ladha Muhammad Naibuddin, APO Akhlaq Ahmed and APA Wana Kamran Khattak were present on the occasion.
The IGFC recalled that the tribal also played brilliant role in freedom of AJK and their sacrifices in chasing terrorists along with security forces when the peaceful atmosphere in the tribal belt got polluted after 9/11 were highly lauded.
The IGFC said he was not oblivious to problems facing the South Waziristan Agency, adding these problems will be addressed gradually with the passage of time. He said that efforts were underway to bring more improvement in the check posts in the agency.
Efforts were afoot to remove backwardness of the agency. Tribal elder Malik Masood Ahmed Mehsud said that problems of the agency would be resolved through joint efforts. We have to forget the past to move forward, he said adding we have to rehab the TDPs on war footings.
Commissioner DIKhan said that all the government offices in the agency would be reactivated soon to address problems of the local tribal people.
