Two Arrested By NAB Over Housing Scam

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Karachi, on Monday arrested two accused over a housing scheme fraud.The accused Muhammad Iqbal Awan, ex-Mukhtiarkar Scheme-33, and Muhammad Ibrahim, a private person, collected around Rs. 180 million from 275 persons in the name of Al Raheem villas from 2005 to 2008, said a NAB statement issued here.
It said the accused again sold the same land and collected more than Rs. 550 million. The value of the land involving 29 acres and situated in Sector 31 and 32 of Karachi's Scheme 33, is approximately Rs. 2 billion. The accused will be produced before an accountability court on Tuesday for seeking physical remand. Accused Muhammad Iqbal Awan is currently serving as Assistant Commissioner Hatri.
