ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2019 ) :Ministry of Climate Change has allocated handsome amount to plant about 2 billion samplings across the Gilgit-Baltistan under "Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign" during next five years.
An official of the ministry said, "Hundred percent funds allocated for clean and green Pakistan campaign will be released for the Gilgit Baltistan".
A total of 100 million saplings would be planted under the 'Clean and Green Pakistan campaign" for the Revival of Forest Resources' during the next five years across the country including Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
The official said that besides enhancing the forest cover, the drive would also help bring green economic development.
Pakistan is among the countries where forest areas have been severely destroyed. He said that PTI government had started a Billion Tree Tsunami project and planted over one billion saplings in KP in the last five years.
It is the clear vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to plant numerous saplings for improving the overall environment.
