ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Two teenage brothers were killed in a traffic accident in Karachi’s Defence-Korangi area on Sunday.
According to a private news channel, the accident happened when a speeding water tanker ran over their motorcycle near Agha Khan Signal on Defence-Korangi Road.
The deceased were identified as 12-year-old Toseef Shah and 15-year-old Ayaan Shah, both sons of Afzal Shah and residents of Korangi 2½.
According to police, the two had left home for Sea View when the accident occurred. Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
Eyewitnesses said the tanker driver fled the scene following the incident.
Enraged locals set the water tanker ablaze in protest. One person was arrested for arson, and the fire was later brought under control by the fire brigade.
Defence SHO Hukumdad said that preliminary investigation suggests the accident may have been caused by both the high speed of the tanker and possible negligence on the part of the underage motorcycle riders. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and efforts are underway to arrest the driver. The owner of the tanker, Mohammad Ali, has been contacted by police.
The damaged tanker was removed by a lifter truck and shifted to the Defence police station. Further investigation is ongoing.
