UNHCR Centres To Remain Closed During Ashura Muharram

PESHAWAR,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Oct, 2016 ) : The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) centres will remain close for the Ashura Muharram holiday on October 12 (Wednesday).
Officials of UNHCR said that registered Afghan refugees who are planning to return to Afghanistan from Pakistan under the UN Refugee Agency's facilitated voluntary repatriation programme are informed that the Voluntary Repatriation Centres (VRC) in Chamkani Peshawar, Azakhel Nowshera and Baleli Quetta would be closed for the Ashura holiday on 12 October (Wednesday) 2016 and will reopen on 13 October (Thursday) 2016.
Afghan refugees in Pakistan who wish to proceed through the VRCs must contact the following UNHCR helpline numbers, which are operational between 8am to 8pm, before arriving at the centres.

0333-781-9601 and Karachi helpline: 0342-270-4888 The emergency contact numbers of Encashment Centres in Afghanistan are Kabul, Kabul province: 0093 (0)791 990 244 Samarkhel, Nangarhar province: 093 (0) 791990201 or 0093 (0) 791990340, Jamal Mayna, Kandahar province: 0093 (0) 791990369, 0093 (0) 700308177 or 0093 (0) 799032233.
UNHCR Kabul repatriation unit can also be contacted on phone numbers 0093 (0) 791990019 in case the Encashment Centres cannot be reached.
