Upgraded Labour Room At Women And Children Hospital Abbottabad Inaugurated

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2024) Former Speaker KP assembly and Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani and PTI Member National Assembly (MNA) Ali Khan Jadoon on Friday inaugurated labour room at Women and Children Hospital Abbottabad.

MNA Ali Khan Jadoon and MPA Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani while addressing the ceremony emphasized the importance of completing the construction of a new block at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital as soon as possible.

They highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing health facilities for the public. They expressed disappointment over the inability to improve Ayub Medical Complex despite considerable efforts. The PTI government has consistently prioritized healthcare services. An initial allocation of 1 billion rupees for the DHQ Abbottabad upgrade faced delays due to changes in government.

MPA Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani reiterated the need to upgrade DHQ Abbottabad to category A, including the installation of dialysis units and new operation theaters. Despite 1 billion rupees being allocated for the hospital’s improvement, 60 crore rupees were returned due to obstruction by an individual. The project is now set to be completed in phases.

Earlier, MS of DHQ Dr. Muhammad Ali Khan Jadoon highlighted the need for a neurosurgeon, MRI and CT scan machines, and addressed the shortage of staff, particularly nurses and sanitation workers. While UNICEF-supported renovations have improved the labor room, the condition of the gynecology wards remains poor.
