US Consul General Calls On Punjab Governor, Felicitates Him

US Consul General in Lahore Colleen Crenwelge called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and discussed matters of mutual interest including strengthening of Pak-US relations, during a meeting at the Governor's House here on Tuesday.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Sep, 2018 ) :US Consul General in Lahore Colleen Crenwelge called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and discussed matters of mutual interest including strengthening of Pak-US relations, during a meeting at the Governor's House here on Tuesday.
The US diplomat also felicitated Ch Muhammad Sarwar on his election as the Punjab governor for the second time and conveyed him her best wishes.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that Pakistan had rendered invaluable sacrifices in a long war against terrorism, adding that Pakistan fought this war for the lasting world peace and not for its own sake. He regretted the fact that country's valuable services in the war against terrorism were not given due recognition by the world community.
Sarwar said the terrorists did not belong to any religion, rather they were enemies of humanity, adding that the armed forces and the law-enforcement agencies had annihilated the terrorist hideouts in the country.
He said Pakistan was desirous of friendly ties with all neighbouring countries i.e. India, China, Iran and Afghanistan, stressing that peace in Afghanistan was vital for regional peace. He said people of India and Pakistan wanted better relations between the two neighbours.
US Consul General Colleen Crenwelge said the ties between United Stated of America and Pakistan were decades old and the US wanted to further strengthen these bilateral relations. She said the US wished Pakistan to be a stable democratic country, adding that the American government was extending its fullest cooperation in various health, clean drinking water and education projects in Pakistan through USAID.
Ms Colleen hailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government's initiative to open the Governor's Houses for the public in Pakistan.
