US Intention To Move Embassy To Jerusalem, Clear Violation Of International Legislations: Rabbani

Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani has said that US intention to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is a clear violation of international legislations including UNSC Resolution 2334 since Jerusalem is an occupied territory
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Dec, 2017 ) :Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani has said that US intention to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is a clear violation of international legislations including UNSC Resolution 2334 since Jerusalem is an occupied territory.
He opined that any initiatives to alter the status quo in Jerusalem will undermine peace efforts and will have negative repercussions on the region's peace, the Muslim Ummah and the entire world, said a press release issued here Thursday.
Mian Raza Rabbani who is leading a delegation of Senators, during his visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, met with the President of the House of Representatives of Jordan, Eng. Atef Al Tarawneh along with prominent members of the House of Representatives.
The visiting delegation comprised Senators Muhammad Javed Abbasi, Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel and Brig. John Kenneth Williams. Earlier, the Chairman of Senate held meetings with the Monarch of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan King Abdullah-II, Prime Minister Dr.
Hani Al Mulki and President of the Senate of Jordan, Faisal Akef Al Fayez. Charge d Affaires of the Embassy of Pakistan in Amman also attended the meetings. Chairman Senate expressed gratitude over the cordial welcome to the visiting delegation and appreciated the unswerving support of Jordan to the two state solution of the Palestine issue.
Mian Raza Rabbani apprised the President of the House of Representatives of Jordan on the continued human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir. He said that it is not a coincidence that the two longest standing unresolved issues, Kashmir and Palestine, with a history of suffering and genocide in both occupied territories, happen to belong to the Muslim Ummah.
President of the House of Representatives, Eng. Atef Al Tarawneh expressed solidarity with Pakistan on the grave human rights violations in Jammu & Kashmir and ensured the Chairman of Jordan's full support on Kashmir issue.
He sought Pakistan's support on the emerging situation in Palestine in the wake of recent US indication to move its Embassy to Jerusalem and the subsequent recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The two countries deeply value the bilateral relations rooted in trust, shared spiritual ideals and peace driven policies. The visit of the Chairman of Senate will prove a significant milestone for bringing the two brotherly countries closer and will help shape key policy convergences on bilateral and multilateral fronts.
The visit comes at a crucial juncture when the US has recently given an indication to move its US Embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem with a subsequent recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
