A case was registered against Buzdar and his father after six men were killed in a firing incident during the 1998 polls.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th August, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) nominee for Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar paid blood money to resolve a murder case against him.
According to media reports, a case was registered against Buzdar and his father after six men were killed in a firing incident in the 1998 polls.
Sources said that a case was registered against 20 people over murder charges, adding that the people had opened fire while campaigning for Buzdar.
A court had declared the PTI’s nominee for Punjab CM and others offenders in the case, police sources said. However, Buzdar and his father paid Rs 750,000 as blood money and settled the case, police sources added.
Another allegation surrounding Buzdar is that he didn't file tax returns for 2015 and 2016 as he declared zero income tax in those two years.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had on Friday nominated Sardar Usman Buzdar for the slot of Chief Minister Punjab.
The assets of Usman Buzdar, who is said to belong to a backward area and lives a life of poverty, have also been revealed.
According to the details submitted by him, he owns assets worth Rs 2.5 crore. The documents stated that he possesses three tractors worth Rs 24 lac and two cars worth Rs 36 lac.
According to the documents, Buzdar has 20-tola gold and furniture worth Rs 50,000. He has accounts in four banks and has taken three insurance policies.
The PTI is being criticized just as these revelations were made on media.
