Utility Stores Corporations Employees Stag Protest At D-Chowk

The employees of Utility Stores Corporations on Monday staged a protest here at D-Chowk in favour of their demands and protecting the rights of the workers as well as revival of the corporation in order to safeguard the livelihood of thousands of workers across the country.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Oct, 2018 ) :The employees of Utility Stores Corporations on Monday staged a protest here at D-Chowk in favour of their demands and protecting the rights of the workers as well as revival of the corporation in order to safeguard the livelihood of thousands of workers across the country.
They demanded of the Ministry of Industries and Production for lifting the ban on procurements by Utility Stores as well as appointing the honest and professional management for a term of at least three years to bring the corporation out of crisis.
The employees also called upon the government for taking appropriate measures in order to make all the payments of Utility Stores that were outstanding to the government, besides providing a bail out package of Rs10 billion.
The protesters also demanded for rise in their perks and privileges as announced by the government in its Federal budget 2017, besides regularization of all its daily wagers and contract employees.
They also asked for issuing the notification about the upgradation of all its warehouses and sale staff and restoring the utility ghee and cooking oil to promote the sales of the corporation.
The workers also asked for taking the union into confidence in decision making about the Utility Stores Corporation and its restructuring to turn around the corporation.
They said that if their demands were not fulfilled by October 22, they would stage a peace full sit in at D-Chowk till the approval of their demands and the countrywide network of the stores would remained closed for daily business.
