VC SMBBMU Welcomes New Batch Of Medical Students

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Jan, 2017 ) - Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Mohatrama Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana, Professor Ghulam Asghar Channa, Monday urged the students to concentrate on education and keep themselve away from politics.
He was addressing the "Day One Ceremony/Orientation Day" of the students selected for admission in MBBS & BDS session 2016-2017- 45th batch of 302 candidates to the first year in Chandka Medical College (CMC) Larkana and Bibi Aseefa Dental College Larkana at Shah Latif Auditorium of the University.
If you are interested in politics then go to do post graduation in the subject of political science, he said. He asked the parents to keep eye over their children to ensure that they pay exclusive attention to their studies.
Approximately 302 outstanding students every year join one of the leading medical institutions in the country when they are formally welcomed at the Shaheed Mohatrama Benazir Bhutto Medical University's newest class of medical at the Day One Ceremony.
The ceremony is a rite of passage for first year medical students, designed to instill the values of professionalism, humanism, and compassionate patient care, he said. It is the official welcome to the medical profession and to the family of this University, he said.
Principal CMC Larkana Professor Sher Muhammad Shaikh, Professor Fouzia Kashif, Director Admissions SMBBMU Professor Riaz Ahmed Shaikh and others also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Vice Chancellor SMBBMU distributed Shields among the students who took first, second and third positions respectively in the NTS entry test.
