
Verification Of New Electoral Lists In KP, Fata To Start From August 10: ECp

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th august,2016) : The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) here Tuesday announced schedule for door-to-door campaign to include Names of new computerized identity card holders in electoral lists and remove names of those who have died. The spokesman for ECP said during the campaign that would start from 10 to August 29 in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas, the ECP staff would visit door-to-door to verify names of electorates. The verification staff would work under the supervision of all districts, agencies districts election commissioners, district registrations officers and assistant registration officers, the spokesman said. Under the supervision of assistant registration officers, the verification staff would visit door-to-door for verification of votes. After verification the new voters lists would be displayed specific centers from 30 August to 10 October for general public.
In all 21343 consensus blocks out of 22237 consensus blocks would be verified for which all arrangements have been finalized in Khyber Pakhunkhwa and tribal areas.
For the purpose 276 assistant registration officers and 9046 verification staff would be deployed. Likewise 997 display centers would also be established. The ECP has appealed to general public to actively participate in verification process so that error-free electoral lists could be prepared in a transparent manner.
The electorates could also verify their names in voter lists by simply sending their CNIC number at 8300. In case of voter transfer the electorates may contact concerned District Election Commissioner or area Display Center.
