Voters face difficulty in Lahore’s NA-132

Voting continues in NA-132 without marking voters’ thumb

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th July, 2018) In an unusual incident on polling day, the process of voting continues in Lahore’s NA-132 without marking the thumb.

According to media reports, the voters are facing a difficulty in NA-132 where voting continues without their thumb being marked.

Meanwhile, the polling personnel is also facing a difficulty in marking entries on the ballot papers.

The nation will elect 270 members of the National Assembly and 570 members of all the four provincial assemblies for the next five-year term today.

Polling across the country is being held today for general elections 2018. Polling began at 8am in the morning and will conclude at 6pm in the evening.

Around 105.95 million eligible voters – 59.22 million male and 46.73 million female – will exercise their right to vote to mark another democratic transition from one elected government to another.

About 1,1673 candidates are vying for 270 national and 570 provincial assemblies seats.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has established 83,307 polling stations across the country, of which 17,000 have been declared sensitive. Some 23,424 polling stations are for males and 21,707 for females, besides 40,133 combined polling stations and 43 improvised polling stations have been set up.
