
Walk Held To Create Awareness Against Drugs Among Youth

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) An awareness walk against drugs with slogan ‘Say no to drugs –yes to life’ was held near Marina Club here on Saturday.
The walk was organized by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) South Zone Karachi Syed Asad Raza PSP with an aim to create awareness and protect the future generations.
The walk was led by DIGP South Syed Asad Raza and SSP South Mahzoor Ali and participated by a large number of men, women, children and members of the civil society for drug-free, safe and healthy society.
Consul General of Italy and Consul General of Sri Lanka also took part in the walk.
While addressing the participants, DIGP South Syed Asad Raza said that the purpose of organizing the walk was to create awareness against the menace of drugs among the people in particular the new generation. He said that the drug was a big challenge across the world.
Advising the people, he said that they must adopt healthy practices to lead a good and healthy life. He said that the people must understand the power of habit.
The DIGP was of the view that the people first start with smoking a cigarette then use ice and other drugs.
The DIGP said that drugs have a direct connection with crime in the society, those who use the drugs were patients and we need to educate our kids.
Raza said that the Police were trying to overcome the challenge of drugs. He said, ‘We are trying to do our work, it is not sufficient.’
He further said that they were in association with schools against drugs.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Mahzoor Ali said that the South Zone Police have arrested 492 drug peddlers in the period of six months. He said that the aim of the walk was to raise awareness against drugs and say no to drugs and yes to life.
