Warm Clothes Sale Starts

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Oct, 2018 ) :With the advent of winter, a large number of people are visiting the landa bazaars for purchasing second-hand items to wear.The landa bazaars, established on the footpaths of Jamia Masjid Road, Bank Road, Haider Road and Railway Station, continue to attract poor people. The Landa Bazaars offer curtains, quilts, blankets, rugs, trousers,shoes, shirts, woollies, children s wear and jackets. Inflation and poverty are forcing people to do their winter shopping from the bazaars of secondhand imported warm clothes.
Salaried people say that their purchasing power is decreasing, adding that the clothes that they bought last year for the winter from main shops are no more affordable this year.Every year in winter, I use to visit Jamia Masjid Road and other places to purchase items now, "My purchasing power does not allow me to purchase branded items," said Arif.
" Another visitor Bank road Rashid said that Landa literally means a market that sells loose items at throwaway prices. He said that I belong to poor family and I cannot afford high prices clothes, he added."No doubt, the prices of second-hand items at landa bazaars witnessed increase this year; however, the available commodities were still relatively inexpensive."A household woman Rehana was happy with her shopping at the Lunda Bazaar as she got stylish and quality woollen sweaters and jackets for her seven children at reasonableprices. She said that the Landa Bazaar is a blessing for people likethem because she can not afford costly clothes.
