'WBGC Helps Promote Women Entrepreneurship In Country'

"Women Business Growth Cell" (WBGC) provides a platform to women entrepreneurs to enhance multidimensional local and international outreach, capacity building and skill development to promote the entrepreneurship culture in the country
The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has established WBGC and provides financial assistance, marketing skills, IT and digital marketing trainings, mentoring services and facilitates in registration of businesses of women entrepreneurs.
Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Majid Shabbir said this in a brief interaction with APP here on Wednesday.
He said that seminars, symposiums, training workshops etc remained a stimulus for disbursement of knowledge and experience for women entrepreneurs.
"Women Business Growth Cell have identified areas of training for women including capacity building, business registration.
Highlighting the need for capacity building, skill development and use of latest technologies for women entrepreneurs Majid Shabbir said that this was the age of technology and they need to educate women entrepreneurs about the use of technology for promotion of their products.
He said that in past women have been remained engaged and contributed to national development, but with a marginal wish or sectoral opportunities, however, "We need to provide them national and international platform and opportunities to further strengthen their role in development of national economy", he said.
He said women have a lot of potential, which needs to be flourished through providing them ease in doing business and guidance.
He said that the initiatives like Women Business Growth Cell would help in providing conducive environment to women entrepreneurs and encourage them to further participate in the process of national development.
An equal motivational response has also been seen from women to join venture mongering domains of country's economy, he added.
He said that besides this forum 12 women chambers of commerce and industry covering almost all major trading cities of Pakistan also providing platform for women to explore new horizons in business and industries.
He further said that women have shown significant potential and engagement in various sectors and have proven their abilities through hard work, dedication and commitment.
The role of women in economic development could be improved through gender empowerment measures and by providing women productive resources such as credit and loan, he said.
