ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2019 ) :Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Development Ms Wajiha Akram Wednesday said that women's role was vital for development and progress of the the country.
Addressing a day long exhibition of products and prize Distribution Ceremony organized by Women's Welfare and Development Centre (WWDC), she said that technical education for women was very important to have their participatory role in society.
She said, "Our religion islam has given immense important to woman and their inherited rights".
She stated that women welfare and development centre has played its effective role in women's technical education adding that it is giving training under 25 skills programmes, which is phenomenal.
She said that after training, girls will be able to do something for their families and becoming self sufficient.
In-charge of WWDC, Ismat Afirdi said that WWDC was working since 1993 and has so far trained 20,000 women in various skills adding that the centre has also expanded its activities and imparting more than 25 vocational skills including one year diploma course in fashion designing, information technology and beautician.
"The idea behind these courses was to facilitate needy women enabling them to support their families through their professional skills, mitigating poverty at grass root level", she said.
Participants from different organizations attended the event including,Deputy Secretary Social Welfare Rana Yousuf,women chamber of commerce, Chairperson Metro polition Corporation and women from different departments.
