World Earth Day Walk Held In City

Under the auspices of Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122, a walk was held in the city in connection with to mark World Health Day
A walk headed by Divisional Emergency Officer, Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur region, Dr Asif Raheem Channar started from the office of the organization and after marching on city roads it culminated back on the office.
The walk was attended by officials and rescuers of the department, citizens and students.
Addressing the participants of the walk, the Divisional Emergency Officer said that every citizen would have to play its role for making earth beautiful.
"Every individual will have to play his or her due role for betterment of our next generations," he said.
He urged civil society to play its role in controlling air pollution. He said that trees helped in dealing with problems of natural calamities like that floods and air pollution. "People must participate in tree plantation drive," he said.
He said that factories and old vehicles were also causing increase in air pollution. He said that should avoid throwing domestic garbage on roadside.
