'World Labour Markets Only Value Skilled-manpower: Zulfi Bukhari

The incumbent government is determined to promote vocational training culture in the country as world labour markets only value skilled manpower rather non-skilled as the former is working out different initiatives to increase skilled workforce by taking on board to all concerned stake-holders.
These views were expressed by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development while addressing Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) 5th Career Day at Construction Technology Training Institute (CTTI) here.The Event was organized by Indus Motor Company (IMC) for 150 students trained under Toyota's flagship technical education programme.
The SAPM hailed the set-up provided by the CTTI to the students and termed it conducive and work-friendly environment which they would replicate in all other vocational training institutions which eventually help enhance the country's precious foreign exchange.
"Vocational training has given the opportunity to the youth to excel in different fields and prove their metal. The youth of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan will enable Pakistani industry to compete internationally and give best trained skilled human resource to the industry in Pakistan, Zulfikar Bukhari said.
He called upon youth to join hands for making the Pakistan, a progressive state which demanded commitment and dedication from the latter's.
Counsellor of the Economic section at the Embassy of Japan Yuji Tokita said that such a training programme would play crucial role in developing human resources besides, boosting industrial activities in Pakistan.
Japanese investors had made huge investment in auto steel and other industry but investment in automobile industry was phenomenal, he added.
Chief Executive Officer Indus Motor Company Ali Asghar Jamali said the prime objective of T-TEP was to directly serve Pakistan by familiarizing young generation with the latest automobile technology and to create employment opportunities.
Since the inception of T-TEP in 2000, over 4,397 students successfully graduated under this programme, said the CEO and added that the IMC had also inducted 35% of these graduates in Toyota Network which was approximately 1,543 students.
The IMC was not only providing technical support to the institute but also an investment of Rs 20 million in shape of equipment and other facilities.
He announced the IMC would provide a paint shop for training and its dealerships would provide on job training to impart practical based education to the youth through this institute.
T-TEP is Toyota global's programme started in 1970's under which Toyota Motor Corporation supports its worldwide distributors to train and develop human resource in their local community by establishing a long term affiliation with running vocational institutes.
Following the suit, IMC is running T-TEP in Pakistan to train youth and manpower. It has provided financial support of more than Rs 74.6 million to four T-TEP institutes across Pakistan in terms oftrainings, tools and equipment and other development activities.
