WPC To Be Made More Vibrant Platform; Fehmida Mirza

Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza on Friday expressed to make Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) a vibrant platform to ensure parliamentary oversight and support to the women legislators
She said this in a statement while addressing at the symposium on institutionalization of WPC in the Legislative Assemblies of Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan organized by SUBAI.
She thanked the custodians of both Houses for acknowledging the active role of women parliamentarians in sponsoring business of the Houses.
She said a platform like Women Caucus may help raise collective voice for women rights at high democratic forum.
She expressed satisfaction that WPC has achieved success more than its mandate over the years. "This forum (WPC) has been extended to all four Provincial Assemblies and is working very well", she commented.
She shared her experiences how this platform provided women lawmakers an opportunity to be united and raise collective voice in their respective legislature.
The forum was also addressed by Speaker Azad Jammu and Kashmir AssemblyShah Ghulam Qadir and Speaker of Gilgit Baltistan Assembly Mr. Fida MuhammadNaushad.
