Wrong Parking A Serious Problem In Faisalabad

Wrong parking of vehicles in the city has become chronic phenomenon which created numerous problems for the residents, shopkeepers, buyers as well as passersby, especially in downtown areas.
The administration has provided parking facilities in all eight bazaars around Clock Tower Chowk including Kutchery Bazaar, Chiniot Bazaar, Aminpur Bazaar, Bhowana Bazaar, Jhang Bazzar, Montgomery Bazaar, Karkhana Bazaar and Rail Bazaar, but due to wrong parking of vehicles, traffic remains jam often in the area.
Talking to APP here on Tuesday, a mobile shopkeeper at Kutchery Bazaar, Akram Ali, said they had complained to the City Traffic Police (CTP) about wrong parking in front of their shop, in result the traffic police lifted vehicles, but the problem still persists.
When contacted, a spokesman for (CTP) said that the situation was grave. He said that the traffic police conducted challans of more than 25,500 vehicles in eight months on wrong parking.
The traffic police not only imposed Rs five million fine over wrong parking but also held awareness walks and special camps from time to time.
He said that traffic police imposed Rs 200 fine over wrong parking on every vehicle. He said the traffic police impounded about 2,000 to 2,500 vehicles every month in these areas.
