WSSP unveils Eid sanitation plan for animals' waste management

Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has issued Eid-ul-Azha Sanitation Plan August 2018 that would cover detailed information regarding Solid Waste management (SWM) services to be provided during Eid days.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Aug, 2018 ) :Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has issued Eid-ul-Azha Sanitation Plan August 2018 that would cover detailed information regarding Solid Waste management (SWM) services to be provided during Eid days.

A control room will be established in WSSP head office with special focus to coordinate collective operational activities during Eid days. In order to manage animal wastes, WSSP is going to distribute about 400 IEC awareness banners in Peshawar city.

Major Masajids/Eid Gahs will be specially focused for cleanliness similarly, for prompt collection of animal waste WSSP will mobilize 100% fleet one day before Eid for zero waste operation.

WSSP will deploy 292 owned fleet and additionally 143 private machinery including dumpers, tractor trolleys and shovels will be deployed on first day, 129 on second and 83 on third day of Eid.

This machinery will be deployed in all UCs of Peshawar for collection of animal waste/offal's.

WSSP will also ensure the cleanliness of Ijtami Qurban Gahs by providing additional resources i.e. Suzuki, Containers, Trolleys etc. In addition to contrainers. 43 temporary waste storage points for animal waste/offal's will also be established wherever feasible. Similarly special cleanliness arrangements will be ensured near and around Eid-Gahs/Masajids.

WSSP will also launch a rigorous awareness program on electronic and print media. The messageto maintain cleanliness during Eid ul Azha and use of waste fleet for disposal of waste will be propagated. Moreover, Imams of Masajids are also being sensitized to include the topic of cleanliness in their Friday and Eid day sermons.
