WWF-Pakistan Organizes Workshop

World-Wide Fund (WWF) Pakistan, under the International Labour and Environmental Standards Applications in Pakistan's SMEs (ILES) project, organized a workshop with the district government departments, based at Sialkot for capacity building of implementation of environmental laws to ensure environmental protection.
SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Oct, 2018 ) :World-Wide Fund (WWF) Pakistan, under the International Labour and Environmental Standards Applications in Pakistan's SMEs (ILES) project, organized a workshop with the district government departments, based at Sialkot for capacity building of implementation of environmental laws to ensure environmental protection.
In the workshop representatives from the EPD, PHED, TDAP, WAPDA, GEPCO, PCSIR, PCRWR, Agriculture Department, Municipal Corporation, Irrigation Department, Labour Department, Health Department and academia participated.
While addressing the session, Arjmand Qayyum, coordinator for WWF Pakistan, emphasized introduction of cleaner production in the SMEs. Experts focused on the implementation of Smart Environmental Management Practices in the industries to reduce the environmental degradation.
Dr Adeel Mehmood, HOD GCWU, Dr Javed Sahi, DHO Sialkot, Dr Abdul Razzaq, MS Sialkot, Muhammad Usman Rahid, XEN WAPDA, Fawad Butt, SDO GEPCO, Khadim Ali, Deputy Director TDAP, Adeel Younas, senior officer, Jawad Shafiq, environmental officer and others were present.
