Youth Facilitators Training Program Organized By VSO, Rescue-1122 Concludes

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2017 ) :Youth Facilitators training for community resilience organized by Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) in collaboration with Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 concluded here Friday.
The training was organized to motivate and empower youth with the support of VSO to work together to promote the culture of peace and enhance respect safety and dignity for all. 36 youth facilitators selected in this regard through a process of recruitment were trained to pilot the peace promotion and community resilient program.
Rescue 1122 and VSO together imparted training to selected youth facilitators to further execute community activities in District Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Multan. Ten days training completed today.
Sheryar Khan Senior Program Manager addressing the volunteers said that they would have to work in the communities with a people centered approach and build ownership in the communities to implement social actions.
The Community Youth Facilitators developed their work plans for delivery of social actions were presented at the end of the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Country Director VSO Hasham Bilal said that peace promotion was an integral part of the community resilience.
"I believe that the training would enhance the professional capacity of the youth facilitators and Rescue-1122 collaboration will further be a great support to implement the project activities in selected districts.

Deeba Shahnaz, Head Community Safety & Information conveyed the message of the Director-General Rescue 1122 Dr. Rizwan that the Emergency Service will ensure support for community resilience activities to get ultimate goal of Safer Pakistan.
The DG also motivated youth facilitators to enhance all concept of training and techniques by the experts of training for further community resilience activities in true letter and spirit. He said Rescue 1122 already have a huge organized network of Rescue Mohafiz (Volunteers) which will definitely be helpful for youth facilitators for peace promotion, social cohesion and community resilience in the country.
He said, the participants of the program have been trained on basic concepts of resilience, sustainable goals (SDG's) including Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate change, Rapid Risk Assessment, Social Cohesion, terminologies Stages and approaches of peace-building and dispute resolution.
Youth Facilitators have also been trained on basic life support & fire safety, social inclusion, social accountability, active citizenship and leadership, interpersonal communication skills, planning and developing social actions and monitoring & evaluation.
The participants have been evaluated through a written test at the end of the training. The ten-day training started on Oct 30 ended today.
