Says he has not received an invitation from Imran Khan.
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 2nd August, 2018) Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has said that he is not going to Pakistan to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Imran Khan, Indian media reported.
In an interview with CNN news 18, an Indian English language channel, the Bollywood superstar said that he has not received an invitation from Imran Khan.
Earlier, there were reports that Prime Minister in-waiting Imran Khan wants Bollywood star Aamir Khan and former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Navjot Singh Sidhu to attend his oath-taking ceremony in Islamabad on August 11.
Dr Shireen Mazari however said in a tweet that Imran Khan wants a simple oath-taking with no external invitees.
Islamabad’s D-Chowk was being considered as a venue to hold the oath-taking ceremony of the next prime minister of the country.
However, this wish of Imran Khan was conditioned to permission from President Mamnoon Hussain. A public oath ceremony can only be held after permission from the President House.
Media reports said that a request in this regard has been forwarded to the President Office. After the president’s permission, the cabinet division will direct the interior ministry to make arrangements.
Moreover, security clearance from the security agencies can also create a hurdle in holding the oath-taking ceremony at a public place.
