In the movie, Aamir Liaquat’s character is used to present a game show where the couple wins many prizes.
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th March, 2019) Just as Mehwish Hayat had slammed an online publication for questioning her character over being nominated for the prestigious civil award, televangelist Aamir Liaquat jumped in to criticise the actress for defaming his character in Load Wedding.
Acclaimed actress Mehwish Hayat will be conferred with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in the Pakistan Day ceremony to be held on March 23.
Just as the news came out, an online publication had tried to give it some other angle. It carried an article questioning if the actress is being awarded for her achievements or her ‘contacts’ with some high-profile.
This angered Mehwish Hayat who took to Twitter to thump the publication, terming it libellous and defamation.
She warned to withdraw the article and issue an apology or she would take a legal action.
“This is shameful http://siasat.pk this is how you celebrate your artist’s success by vilifying their character?! This is libellous and defamation. Withdraw this article and post a written apology else legal action will be taken against this!” she wrote.
More celebs had come out in Mehwish Hayat’s support after her tweet.
They condemned the article and congratulated the actress for being nominated for the award over her services to the Pakistani entertainment industry.
The article was then taken down from the website.
Meanwhile, to spark another controversy, Dr Aamir Liaquat, who hosts the famous game shows during Ramzan, also jumped in to take a dig at the actress for defaming his character in her recent hit ‘Load Wedding’.
In the movie, Aamir Liaquat’s character is used to present a game show where the couple wins many prizes.
Taking to Twitter, Aamir Liaquat warned to sue Mehwish Hayat for wrongly portraying his character without his consent.
“And should I not sue your movie load wedding where your entire movie revolves around me, defaming and wrongly portraying my character WITHOUT my consent? As an artist you did not only work in such a movie but you failed to stop the nonsense in it. Shameful!” he wrote.
Mehwish has not yet responded to the tweet. Let’s see where this Twitter feud leads to.
