ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jan, 2019 ) :Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical' will be staged at The Dubai Opera starting January 10th to celebrate 150 shows of the classic story of Mughal-e-Azam based on the love story between Mughal Prince Salim and courtesan Anarkali.
The play portrays the conflict faced by Mughal Emperor Akbar, his responsibility towards the future of his empire and his duty as the father of a beloved son.
'Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical' has earned a cult status not just across India but internationally as well winning accolades and standing ovations whichever city it travels to.
After a successful first season, the Musical returns to the United Arab Emirates. This time the most successful play will be staged at the Dubai Opera celebrating 150 shows of the classic, said the official statement of Mughal e Azam The Play here Monday.
Director Feroz Abbas Khan said, "Mughal-e-Azam develops a special connect with audiences wherever it goes.
It's magical to see how people cutting across age groups and nationalities own the play as their own. The Dubai Opera is a wonderful setting as the Musical returns to the UAE." Deepesh Salgia (Creative and Strategic Vision: Mughal-e-Azam) says, "Some stories are immortal and never get old. 'Mughal-e-Azam' is one of those epic sagas of love that transcend time and medium. We are looking forward to return to Dubai and to an even bigger stage."Produced by Shapoorji Pallonji, 'Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical' will be staged at the Dubai Opera in Dubai from January 10th to January 12th, 2019.
The live singing, intricately designed choreography by Mayuri Upadhya, world-class production design and exquisitely designed Manish Malhotra costumes of the Mughal era have set new benchmarks for this theatre. The show is a tribute to K. Asif's timeless epic.
