A fund raising Sufi night will be held here featuring renowned singer Sanam Marvi to support the Pakistan's third Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre being built in Karachi to entertain the people of Federal capital on January 19

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2019 ) :A fund raising Sufi night will be held here featuring renowned singer Sanam Marvi to support the Pakistan's third Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre being built in Karachi to entertain the people of Federal capital on January 19.

These Sufi Night Fund raising Gala dinners started from January 10 at Sialkot, then in Islamabad and in Lahore on January 26 to support the Pakistan's third Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre of Karachi.

First Sufi Night Fund raising gala dinner was held at Sialkot on January 10 where Sanam Marvi performed at Heritage Club and entertained the people of that city.

Sanam Marvi is a sufi and folk singer and her background is related to folk singing. She made her live concert singing. Marvi performed sufi concerts around the world. She sung in different languages urdu, Punjabi.

Her step-father, Faqeer Ghulam Rasool, was also a Sindhi folk singer.

She started initial classical music training for 2 years from Ustad Fateh Ali Khan of Hyderabad,Sindh inthe Gwalior Gharana tradition.

She has also learned a lot from folk singer Abida Parveen.Sanam Marvi debuted, in 2009, at 'Virsa Heritage', a music programme on ptv.
