Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th October, 2018) Actress Hania Amir gave a strong message International Day of the Girl which was observed on Thursday, Oct 11.
Sharing a picture of herself from the gym, the actress said that she is extremely proud of all the hard working girls.
“Can I please say how extremely proud I am of all the girls out there trying to make it! Working hard! Doing what they believe in! Voicing their opinions! Thank you for believing in yourself and believing in what matters to you!” she wrote on her Instagram account.
The Parwaaz Hai Junoon actress said that this is how girls come forward and fight their battles.
“This is how we pave way for the girls to come; to not be scared to voice their opinions, to fight their battles, to stand for what they believe in, to not think that they are lesser!”
She also thanked the men who support visionary women and their rights. “I’d also like to thank the men who have been supportive of women with vision! Supportive of our rights!” she wrote.
She urged the people to educate girls and give them freedom.
“Educate your girls! Give them freedom! Make them strong! Make them fighters! Do not conform! They are the future! Here’s to the girls! Here’s to the humanity!🥂 God bless 🙌🏽 #internationaldayofthegirl” she concluded.
A woman responded to her post, saying how girls have to face criticism when they “raise their voices”. “Sadly not everyone believes in ‘girls having voice’. According to most of the people in our society, girls shouldn’t speak up for their rights and if they do, they hear comments like ‘You have not been brought up well’, and commonly ‘You are a girl, not a boy’,” she wrote.
The woman wished that this mentality is changed some day.
To this, Hania replied, “You change it. Teach your daughter/son to be a fighter, adding, “People can tell you to shut up but they can’t keep you from having an opinion.”
