The announcement was made by All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) that put a blanket ban on Pakistani artists in India.

A statement from the AICWA stated that the organization condemns the brutal attack on soldiers in Pulwama.

The statement added that despite the official ban if any organisation wants to work with Pakistani artists, the AICWA will take strict action against them.
“All Indian Cine Workers Association strongly condemns brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. AICWA stands with nation in confronting such terror and inhumanity,” the notice read.

“We are officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani Actors and Artists working in Film Industry. Still if any organisation insist on working with Pakistani Artists will be banned by AICWA and a strong action will be taken against them,” it said.

“Nation comes first, we stand with our nation,” the notice further read.

The Pak-India tensions have again intensified following Pulwama attack in Kashmir.

At least 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed February 14 in Indian-occupied Kashmir in one the deadliest attacks.

The attack saw explosives packed inside a van rip through buses in a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying some 2,500 members of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Following the attack, India revoked its Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan.

It also covered a portrait of Prime Minister Imran Khan from the cricket Club of India (CCI).

Not only that, Indian music company T-Series pulled down all the songs by Pakistani singers from their YouTube channel.
