A recent episode of Quantico portrayed Indians as terrorists
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th June, 2018) Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has apologized over the recent episode of Quantico that portrayed Indians as terrorists.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra who stars in American tv series Quantico received severe backlash as the latest episode portrayed Indians as terrorists.
In the episode aired on June 1, an MIT professor acquires radioactive material Uranium with which he plans to make a nuclear bomb. An India-Pakistan summit to be held in New York City is his target where ‘Indian nationalists’ plot a terrorist attack with the intention of blaming it on Pakistan.
Although it shows how India actually tries to frame Pakistan of terrorism, patriots and nationalists in India were not happy over the episode.
Following the backlash, Priyanka issued an apology over the episode.
“I’m extremely saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been hurt by a recent episode of Quantico.
That was not and would never be my intention. I sincerely apologise. I'm a proud Indian and that will never change,” Priyanka wrote on her Twitter account.
However, Pakistanis are not happy with the act as they are often portrayed as terrorists in Hollywood movies and dramas but an apology is never issued for them.
Responding to this, Fatima Bhutto named a few movies where Pakistanis were filmed as terrorists.
“Super. We’ll be here waiting for an apology from Homeland, 24, Tyrant, Rambo, Zero Dark Thirty, American Sniper, Munich...” she said.
This only shows the double standards of media where it is okay to portray Muslims and Pakistanis as terrorists but if an Indian is showed as a terrorist, the entire team apologizes for hurting their ‘sentiments’.
