Sanam Baloch Won't Be Hosting Ramzan Transmission This Year

Says certain channels and agencies are using my name, claiming I’m taking over their transmission but it’s unauthentic news.

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th May, 2019) Actress and tv host Sanam Baloch has not joined the bandwagon of Ramzan transmissions this year.

In her post on Instagram, Sanam Baloch wrote, “This year I’ve not joined the bandwagon of any Ramadan transmission, but here I’m sending all the wishes and luck to the ones who are, and would be providing us with pedagogic and pragmatic transmissions as usual.”

She said that after hosting a morning show, she had decided to take a break from daily transmissions and that she will abide by it.

“It has come to my notice that certain channels and agencies are using my name, claiming I’m taking over their transmission. Well it’s unauthentic news. If there’s anything, you’ll hear from me first,” she said.

TV channels hold special Ramzan transmissions and game shows during the holy month which have now become controversial for celebrities know little about islam and tend to preach it.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution banning celebrities to host Ramzan transmission.

A resolution seeking a ban on celebrities hosting Ramzan transmissions was submitted in the Punjab Assembly last week by Pakistan Rah-e-Haq party's parliamentary leader Maulana Muhammad Muavia Azam.

With the resolution, the Punjab Assembly has requested the Federal government to ensure that TV channels display utmost respect for Ramzan in their transmissions.

The resolution stated that Ramzan transmissions are hosted by people who have no knowledge of Islam, adding that this upsets Muslims every year.

It demanded that only religious scholars should be invited to the programmes who have spent their entire life in teaching and learning the religion instead of people associated with the showbiz.

The resolution also called upon Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to enforce the said ban.
