Sidhu removed from Kapil Sharma show after Pulwama attack remarks

Sidhu will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh on the show.

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th February, 2019) Indian cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has been removed from The Kapil Sharma Show following his remarks on Pulwama attack.

The production team of the show has been informed about the decision to sack him.

Kapil along with his team were reportedly going to shoot for another episode tomorrow which has now been postponed till a replacement is found.

Sidhu will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh on the show, according to reports.

“His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana,” Indian media reported.

Commenting on the Pulwama attack, Sidhu had said, “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists.

The terrorists don’t have any religion or sect. There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”

These comments were met with harsh criticism on social media who then demanded his exit from the comedy show.

The Pak-India tensions have again intensified following Pulwama attack in Kashmir.

At least 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed on Thursday in Indian-occupied Kashmir in one the deadliest attacks.

The attack saw explosives packed inside a van rip through buses in a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying some 2,500 members of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Two blue buses carrying around 35 people each bore the brunt of the massive blast, heard miles away, around 20 kilometres from the city of Srinagar on the main highway to Jammu.
