Karachi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th May, 2018) A private tv channel has announced to make a telefilm over the tragic incident of eight-year-old Zainab who was murdered after being raped in Kasur earlier this year.
The incident was much highlighted on national and international media, receiving condemnations from all segments of society. Protests were held across the country to give strong punishment to the culprit. A capital punishment was demanded for Zainab’s murderer Imran. #JusticeforZainab kept trending and the nation has still not gotten over the incident.
However, a private TV channel has now decided to make a telefilm on this incident. The title of the telefilm has been decided as ‘Zainab k qatil’ (Zainab’s murderers).
Sources said that all the events of Zainab murder case will be filmed while the telefilm will also aim to provide awareness to the parents to protect their children.
The key character of Zainab will be played by child artist Hamna Amir while Sohail Sameer will act as accused Imran. The scripting of the film has been done by renowned playwright Umera Ahmed. The telefilm will be soon released on the TV channel.
Earlier, TV serial ‘Udaari’ starring Urwa Hocane and Ahsan Khan touched the issue of child rape. The drama was much appreciated and received several awards for its story idea.
