The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is pleased to convey that 42nd All Pakistan HEC Inter-varsity Women Tennis Championships-2019 kicked off on 13th March, 2019 at the PTF Complex, Islamabad with a very colorful opening ceremony and a lot enthusiasm displayed by the participating teams
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th March, 2019) The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is pleased to convey that 42nd All Pakistan HEC Inter-varsity Women Tennis Championships-2019 kicked off on 13th March, 2019 at the PTF Complex, Islamabad with a very colorful opening ceremony and a lot enthusiasm displayed by the participating teams.
The event will be played from 13th to 15th March, 2019 featuring teams from thirteen (13) universities from all over Pakistan. Matches will be played in the singles & doubles categories. Dr. Tariq Banuri, Chairman HEC was the chief guest on the occasion. Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF, Mr. Sheikh Anser Aziz, Mayor of Islamabad, diplomats from the French Embassy & Srilankan High Commission, PTF Management and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Dr. Tariq Banuri, Chairman HEC, Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF and Mr. Sheikh Anser Aziz, Mayor of Islamabad addressed the players at the opening ceremony and shed light on importance of sports in life.
Dr. Tariq Banuri thanked the PTF for extending support to the HEC in organizing the event, and also for promotion of tennis, especially revival of international events in Pakistan. The Mayor of Islamabad also appreciated the concerted effort of the HEC & the PTF in organizing such healthy activity and emphasized the need for a coordinated effort for promotion of sports. Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan during his address appreciated the efforts of Chairman HEC who has infused new spirit into various sports activities especially Tennis. The President apprised the participants that 210 nations are represented on the International Tennis Circuit as compared to other sports; therefore the game of tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world. He further added that the PTF Complex facilities are available for Tennis events in future to the HEC and other organizations who wish to conduct tennis events in Islamabad.
