8Th Chief Of The Naval Staff Amateur Golf Championship Concludes, Ahmed Baig Of Lahore Garrison Golf & Country Club Lahore Emerges As The New Champion

The “8th Chief of the Naval Staff Amateur Golf Championship – 2018” was held at Defence Raya Golf & Country Club, Lahore

Lahore, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Nov, 2018 ) The “8^th Chief of the Naval Staff Amateur Golf Championship – 2018” was held at Defence Raya Golf & Country Club, Lahore. Vice Admiral Kaleem Shaukat HI(M), Vice Chief of the Naval Staff was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony and awarded the prizes to the winning golfers.

The event was held from 16–18 Nov 18. It has become a quintessential of National Golf Events since its inception in 2011. Around 300 enthusiastic golfers participated in various categories which include Amateurs, Seniors, Ladies etc.

Vice Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Kaleem Shaukat HI(M) congratulated the winning golfers and appreciated their skills, dexterity and sportsman spirit displayed, throughout the event. He lauded the consistent and generous support from, sponsors and management of Defence Raya Golf & Country Club Lahore, without which the event would not have been such a resounding success. The Chief Guest also extended special gratitude to the media for projecting and highlighting the Championship through effective coverage and leaving a positive impact.

Earlier, in his Welcome Address, the Organizer and Station Commander (Navy) Lahore, Commodore Neimatullah SI(M) thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time for gracing the closing ceremony. The Station Commander highlighted that Pakistan Navy, besides undertaking its primary role of defending sea frontiers of Pakistan, has always remained at the fore-front in promoting sports activities in the country.

Commodore Neimatullah SI(M) added that promotion of golf has always been a priority for Pakistan Navy and hoped that this Golf Championship would hone the existing talent and help young golfers to the national scene.

The closing ceremony was attended by a large number dignitaries from civil, military, corporate, academia and participating golfers.
