Austria Prosecution Suspects Russia Biathlon Team Members Of Doping Usage - Representative

The Austrian Central Public Prosecutor's Office for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption suspects 10 members of the Russian biathlon team of using prohibited substances, office's representative Elisabeth Taeubl told Sputnik on Thursday.
VIENNA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th December, 2018) The Austrian Central Public Prosecutor's Office for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption suspects 10 members of the Russian biathlon team of using prohibited substances, office's representative Elisabeth Taeubl told Sputnik on Thursday.
"The Central Public Prosecutor's Office for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption is investigating five Russian team members' [involvement in] the usage of prohibited substances as doping as well as the same team's five athletes [involvement in] serious fraud linked to doping," Taeubl said.
The investigation against the Russian athletes focuses on their participation in the 2017 World Biathlon Cup in Austria's Hochfilzen, according to the prosecution's representative.
"In line with the criminal procedure legislation the suspected persons were given a notification of the investigation. No searches and questioning took place," Taeubl added.
