Charsadda move to pre-quarters in Dr. Shoukat Challenge Soccer Cup

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -5th Sep,2016) : Charsadda moved to the pre-quarter-finals after securing victory against Shah Club in the ongoing Dr. Shoukat Challenge Football Cup being played here at Tehmas Khan Football ground on Monday.

Veteran Footballer Muhammad Ali was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the match the players of both Charsadda District and Shah Club were introduced to him. Organizing Secretary Dr.

Shoukat, officials and large number of spectators were also present on this occasion and witnessed the thrilling match. Shah Club and Charsadda players exhibited classic display of soccer with some beautiful moves and attacking paces were also witnessed.

Shah Club opened the account in the 5th minute when right winger Wasif netted a fine goal before dodging three defenders in a row. It was very superb goal from when Wasif slammed in to make the tally 1-0.

After taking lead, Shah club kept up pressure to double the lead and in the 13th minute Haroon scored another goal through field attempt. Center striker Haroon got a free ball from his mid-fielder Ibrahim and zoomed quickly toward rival goal-post where he netted a fine goal to make the tally 2-0.

On the other hand, Charsadda District managed their position after conceding two goals and their forwards made beautiful attacking inroads as a result it was in the 23rd minute when inner striker Sikander slammed in a beautiful goal through field attempt.

Sikander and left winger Waqar exchanges the ball with each other and when Sikander reached in front of the goal-mouth he dispatched a nice goal to reduce the margin 2-1. At half-time Shah club was leading by 2-1.

It was the second session in which Charsadda club put in more pressure with some well-combined moves and in the 53rd minute this time left winger Waqar netted a fine goal to make the tally 2-2.

After 2-2, both the teams raided on each other territories but in vain as the match ended in a draw. To get result of the match both the teams were awarded five each penalty kicks on which Charsadda converted four out of five, missed one while Shah club scored on three occasion, missing two.

Thus Charsadda won the match by 6-5. The match was supervised by Ikram Ullah while Gohar Rehman and Abid acted as deputy referees.
