Farhan Mehboob Halts Leo Au In President Gold Cup International

ISLAMABAD, Jan, 6 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jan, 2017 ) : Pakistan's World number 49 Farhan Mehboob overcame World number 30 Leo Au of Hong Kong in the final to lift First President Gold Cup International Squash Tournament 2017 at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad on Friday.
Farhan, who won the Serena Hotel Chief of Air Staff International Squash Championship in November, last year at the same venue was again in the same mood as he took first two sets 11-4, 11-4. In the next two sets both the players produced a series of well-constructed rallies, but Farhan conceded defeat 8-11, 10-12.
In the last set he came back strongly and did not give any chance to his opponent to win the set 11-3. The match lasted for 55 minutes. President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain was the chief gust of closing ceremony and awarded trophies to the winner and runners-up of the tournament.
President Pakistan Squash Federation Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, squash legends Qamar Zaman and Jahangir Khan and a large number of civil and military dignitaries and sports lovers from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi also attended the closing ceremony.
