First Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Sports Festival Begins Amidst Great Fun

The first edition of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Sports Festival under way amidst great fun here at Hayatabad Sports Complex on Friday
Member Provincial Assembly Rabi Basri was the chief guest on this occasion in a grand opening ceremony held at Hayatabad Sports Complex while the Taekwondo event of the Festival was formally inaugurated by former Sports Minister KP Syed Aqil Shah here at Qayyum Sports Complex.
Administrator Hayatabad Sports Complex Syed Jaffar Shah, Director National Book Foundation Murad Ali Mohmand, Olympian Nasrullah, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present.
In the opening match of the football Sheikh Club Mardan upset Hayatabad Football academy team by 3-2 in a thrilling match.
Hamza, the center striker, was the star for Skeikh Club Mardan who scored three goals including a hat-trick while for Hayatabad Football Academy Roghan and Shah Nawaz scored one goal each.
In the Badminton event Bannu, Peshawar, Abbottabad, HEC Junior and Senior teams advanced to next round after securing victories against their respective rivals.
In the first Bannu defeated Dir Lower by 2-0, Peshawar beat Charsadda by 2-0, Abbottabad recorded victory against Nowshera by 2-0 while HEC Senior and HEC Junior teams beat Swat and Malakand teams in straight sets.
Male and Female players from across the province are taking part in other games comprising Table Tennis, Taekwondo.
