Football: Hummels Limps Off, Bayern Leave It Late In Hamburg

BERLIN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -24th Sep,2016) - Joshua Kimmich's late winner saw Bayern Munich preserve their 100 percent Bundesliga record in Saturday's 1-0 win at Hamburg, but the league leaders saw Mats Hummels limp off with a knee injury.
With Bayern facing Atletico Madrid away in the Champions League on Wednesday, Germany international Kimmich converted a superb Franck Ribery cross in the 88th minute. Kimmich's goal leaves Carlo Ancelotti's Munich as the only team in Germany's top flight with five league wins from five.
They also have eight wins from eight matches in all competitions. However, their joy was tempered by seeing key defender Hummels suffer a right knee injury in the second half which makes him a doubt for Wednesday's European clash.
The win leaves Bayern three points clear of Borussia Dortmund, who beat Freiburg 3-1 on Friday when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his fifth goal in five games. Saturday's defeat to Bayern is another blow to Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia, who is battling for his job after four straight defeats.
Germany forward Nicolai Mueller went closest for the hosts while Bayern's star strikers Thomas Mueller and Robert Lewandowski endured a frustrating afternoon until Kimmich's winner. Ribery, a second-half replacement for Kingsley Coman, lived dangerously with a patronising pinch of Mueller's cheek following a tussle midway through the second-half which escaped the referee's attention.
It's the latest in a string of off-the-ball incidents involving the Frenchman which had earned him a ticking off from Ancelotti at the start of the season.
Fourth-placed Borussia Moenchengladbach warmed up for Wednesday's visit of Barcelona in the Champions League with a 2-0 win at home to Ingolstadt thanks to goals by Oscar Wendt and captain Lars Stindl.
Having had their winning streak ended by Bayern in Munich on Wednesday, Hertha Berlin were held to a 3-3 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt. Hertha captain Vedad Ibisevic gave Berlin the lead when he converted a first-half penalty after a foul on Swiss midfielder Valentin Stocker.
But Frankfurt hit back with goals from Mexico's attacking midfielder Marco Fabian and captain Alexander Maier to lead 2-1 at the break. Hertha dug deep as midfielder Alexander Esswein came off the bench to play a key role by setting up Ibisevic's second goal in the second-half, then scoring himself to put Berlin 3-2 up with 25 minutes to go.
But the teams shared the points after English-born Jamaica defender Michael Hector, on loan from Chelsea, scored Frankfurt's equaliser in the 92nd minute to leave Frankfurt fifth and Berlin sixth in the table.
Mexico striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez scored a hat-trick in Bayer Leverkusen's 3-2 win at Mainz to give them their second win in five league games before their midweek Champions League game at Monaco.
Augsburg are mid-table after their 1-0 win over 10-man Darmstadt thanks to Alfred Finnbogason's second half header. Darmstadt defender Leon Guwara was sent off just before the half-time whistle for his second yellow card.
