German Olympic Authority Bashes WADA For Declaring Russia Compliant With Doping Rules
Muhammad Rameez Published January 23, 2019 | 08:01 PM
The president of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) on Wednesday slammed the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for calling the Russian doping authority compliant with its rules despite its missing deadline for granting access to a lab
"It is hard for the DOSB to accept this decision.
The entire story about the premature readmission of [Russian anti-doping agency] RUSADA and its failure to meet requirements have not strengthened trust in WADA and the global anti-doping campaign," Alfons Hoermann tweeted.
RUSADA was suspended from conducting any anti-doping testing in 2015 after it was accused of covering up violations by Russian athletes. WADA reinstated the agency last September but gave it until late December to grant experts access to its Moscow lab. This did not happen until January 10.
