Golf: Yang gunning for lead in rain-delayed LPGA Thailand

BANGKOK, , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2017 ) - South Korea's Amy Yang is poised to hang onto her lead in the third round of the Honda LPGA in Thailand after play was cut short by darkness Saturday.

The 27-year-old was four strokes ahead of compatriot So Yeon Ryu with five holes still to go when play was suspended at the Siam Country Club course in Chonburi province after weather delays forced a late start.

So Yeon Ryu completed the round with a 4-under 68 that moved her into second place with a total of 203. "My shot was good. You know, I've been hitting good all week," said Yang, who won the tournament in 2015.

Yang entered the round one shot ahead of world number two Ariya Jutanugarn, a local favourite on home turf in Thailand, and China's Shanshan Feng. Both players stumbled with several bogeys but are among 28 golfers who still have shots left in the round.

The third round got off to a late start after an unseasonable storm on Friday saw round two delayed until morning. Round three is scheduled to resume at 7am on Sunday, with the final round slated to kick off shortly before 10am.
