Groenewegen Wins Stage 8, Greipel And Gaviria Disqualified

Dylan Groenewegen won for the second straight day after a bunch sprint on stage eight of the Tour de France on Saturday, edging Andre Greipel and Fernando Gaviria to the Amiens finish line after a 181km run from Dreux.
Amiens, France, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2018 ) :Dylan Groenewegen won for the second straight day after a bunch sprint on stage eight of the Tour de France on Saturday, edging Andre Greipel and Fernando Gaviria to the Amiens finish line after a 181km run from Dreux.
But there was drama to follow as race organisers disqualified the 2nd and 3rd placed finishers Greipel and Gaviria from their places on the stage for breaching rules on physical contact.
Peter Sagan was then given second place and John Degenkolb third after the pair originally finished fourth and fifth.
Overall leader Greg Van Avermaet of BMC held on to the yellow jersey for a sixth day, but after a mass fall 17km from the line GC contender Dan Martin of UAE Team Emirates lost around a minute to his title rivals.
