Humam, Abdullah, Maira, Nimra Wins Independence Day Squash Titles

Humam Ahmad, Abdullah Nawaz, Maira Khan, Nimra Aqeel clinched the titles of the various categories of the Independence Day Squash Championship played here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Wednesday.
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Aug, 2018 ) :Humam Ahmad, Abdullah Nawaz, Maira Khan, Nimra Aqeel clinched the titles of the various categories of the Independence Day Squash Championship played here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Wednesday.
Nazim Nawa Khali Inam Ullah Khan, Nazim Sajjad Khan, former World Champion Qamar Zaman, Executive Members Wazir Gul, Sher Bahadar and large number of spectators were also present.
In the final of the Under-13 category Humam Ahmad upset Yasin Khattak in straight set. The score was 11-7, 11-6 and 11-7. Humam did not face any resistance against Yasin and raced up to victory.
In the final of the Under-11 category Abdullah Nawaz defeated Mobeen Kamran by 3-1, the score was 10-12, 11-9, 11-9 and 11-7. The match provided great thrill for the sitting spectators. Abdullah Nawaz and Mobeen played well and smashed some good strokes.
In the Girls Under-13 final Maira Khan defeated Sana by 11-7, 11-9 and 12-10 in another thrilling match.
Maira Khan faced some resistance in the last set against Sana but she played with determination and match into victory at 3-0.
In the Under-15 Girls second seeded Nimra Aqeel beat Hira Aqeel by 3-0, the score was 11-8, 11-9 and 11-8.
At the end of the final matches the chief guest Nazim Nawa Khali Inam Ullah Khan, Nazim Sajjad Khan and former World Champion Qamar Zaman gave away trophies to the players. A total of 81 players took part in the tournament played in four different categories.
Speaking on this occasion Inam Ullah Khan lauded KP Squash Association for holding the event in connection with the 71st Independence Day. He said competitive exposure would give due opportunities to the players to learn from each other skills.
