Wasim, ranked as the second best Twenty20 bowler in the world, cares little for Trent Bridge's reputation as a batsman's paradise, especially in T20 cricket.

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club (CCC) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. The club's limited overs team is called the Notts Outlaws.

"If you don't learn you're failing. You should learn every single day as a cricketer," he said.

"There's experienced players and coaches here. I can learn from the youngster playing his first game as well.

"I've been trying to work with all the young players to help them as well, to help them how to think and make decisions under pressure.

"The game is always the same. Pressure makes you do silly things, so you have to stay calm," Nottingham Post reported.

"Stick to your basics because T20 cricket is so difficult. You can get hit as a bowler, but you have pride not to go for runs.

"I don't care about wickets and outfields. I know that if I do my basics right I'm good enough to get any batsman out, or at least contain them, Imad said.

"If the batsman is good enough to hit me then fair enough, they deserve success. I'll try to vary my pace in and out of the power play and I try to play with the batsman's mind," he said.

Wasim has had little chance to impress with the bat yet, but he has done well with the ball, with the left-arm spinner taking seven wickets at an average of 15.

His economy rate of 6.47 is the second best in the team with only Matt Carter (6.40) bettering him.

With that in mind, Wasim is relishing his time at Trent Bridge.

"I'm loving it. It's lovely here," he said.

"It's great to see county cricket. I've played all around the world so I wanted a new experience.

"It's a good standard. Every team has two overseas players, then a lot of the local players are England players, or players who hope to play for England.

"Trent Bridge is fantastic. Every game feels like an international game because the ground is so full.

"It's good to see so many people supporting the county level. That will mean players are more ready when they play for their country.

"I don't think about pressure. I'm selected to play cricket.

"I'll play cricket. It doesn't matter if you perform or not because what matters is you give 100 percent for your team each day. results come if you work hard." While this is Wasim's first time in county cricket, it is not his first stint in the UK. He was born in Wales, but moved back to his homeland as young child, before returning to play club cricket in Belfast and English clubs, including Papplewick and Linby in 2007.

That has given him plenty of experience of UK dressing rooms and the variety of characters you encounter.

"It's fun. It's a different culture. You get to understand every player and it's really nice to get along with other players," he said.

"Every player here is a character in their own way. There's some unbelievable guys here.

"I've played with and against some of them before. They're all top notch," he said.
