Inter-district Hockey League Revival Good Omen: Mayor Karachi

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said on Wednesday that the revival of inter-district hockey league is a good omen for the city of Karachi and this would help promote healthy sports activities at local level.
He said this while speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of the mayor Karachi gold cup inter district hockey league on Tuesday in Dr.
Junaid Ali Shah Hockey Complex Gulshan e Iqbal here, said a statement on Wednesday.
He said that sport grounds in Karachi would now have quality events in hockey, cricket and football and other sports and this will help players to show their talent at the highest level.
Chairman of DMC East Moeed Anwer, Chairman West Izhar Ahmed Khan, Sindh Minister Syeda Shehla Raza, Dr. Junaid Ali Shah and former Olympians and hockey payers were also present.
The Mayor also gave trophy to the winners district central team and to runners up district west team.
